Nikki Savage

SUMMARY: Nikki Savage, a wounded marine, is discharged with a morphine addiction.  In financial desperation, she turns to a friend working as a high-end escort.

When NIkki’s first client becomes violent, she kills the son of a mafia boss in self-defense, and upon learning his identity, flees the city.

Hank Pulaski, a mobbed-up, Chicago narc, tracks Nikki to Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she finds refuge with her former boyfriend, a martial arts instructor and the father of her son, Tom, whom Vikki has not seen since his birth.

Back in her home town, Nikki journeys into her past, continually refusing help from the most important people in her life.

But the mafia, like the military command structure she once confronted after a sexual assault, proves itself a daunting opponent. She cannot fight back alone, and for the first time, Nikki must rely on others rather than herself.

By accepting love and strategic help from the people closest to her, Nikki foils the mobsters trying to kill her, and she defeats the underlying cause of her drug addiction,  healing both herself and her relationship with the son she was forced to abandon years before.
