SUMMARY: Fish, a post-rehab, has-been rock star, lives on royalties and basks in the glory of his former life. The money is good enough for a luxury apartment on Chicago’s gold coast. But when his son, Willie, arrives to live with his dad for the first time in seventeen years, life changes drastically for both of them.

Fish begins a relationship with one of Willie’s teachers at a high school for performing arts. Willie meets a talented young singer attending the school. These parallel relationships transform father and son in unexpected and similar ways.

“Ready” is an emotional, layered story painted on a metaphorical canvas of blues music wherein a young man comes of age, and his father transcends a life removed from reality, ultimately “growing-up” himself.
